WARRENTON, Ga. - Mrs. Ruby Johnson Abbott 107 of Warrenton, GA entered into rest June 10, 2008 at Warrenton Health and Rehabilitation Center. Mrs. Abbott was a lifelong resident of Warren County and was the daughter of the late Wesley Smith Johnson and the late Irene Pool Johnson. She was a homemaker. Mrs. Abbott was also the oldest member of Johnson United Methodist Church and the oldest member of the Burkhalter Chapter of the D.A.R. Survivors include: daughters: Dahlia Newsome, Thomson, GA, Maxine Foster (Billy), Centerville, GA; brother: Forest Johnson, Warrenton, GA; sister, Nell Chalker, Thomson, GA; five grandchildren: Brenda Jones, Kathy Whittington, Jimmy Newsome, Dwight Foster and Glen Foster; four great-grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren. Mrs. Abbott was preceded in death by a brother Harvey Johnson, a sister Josie Johnson, and a son-in-law Lewis Newsome. CRAWFORDVILLE, Ga. - Mrs. Mary Taylor Gunn, 93, of Crawfordville, died May 13, 2007 in Warrenton Health and Rehabilitation Center. She was a native of Taliaferro County and the daughter of the late Robert L. Taylor and Fannie Mae Treadwell Taylor. She was the widow of Paul L. Gunn. Mrs. Gunn was a homemaker and a member of the Raytown Methodist Church. Funeral services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. in Raytown Methodist Church with Rev. Arthur Gunn and Rev. She had been a resident of Warren County since the early 1950's where she and Mr. Thompson owned and operated Thompson's Restaurant. Mrs. Thompson was a direct descendant of Thomas Heyward, Jr. a signer of the declaration of Independence. Mrs. Thompson was of the Episcopalian Faith.
