The city of Augusta quietly closed its once-popular public golf course this week, leaving the future of the course uncertain.

AUGUSTA, Ga. - A truly good man who asked for so little yet gave so much to so many for so long, Dr. Thomas (Tom) Arnold, of 404 Shallowford Circle in Augusta, GA, died Sunday, September 23, 2012. Dr. Arnold was born in Marion, OH on April 29, l923.

The CSRA Cobras are holding tryouts for the 2012 season Jan. 14 and Jan. 21 at 10 a.m. Tryouts will be held at Willie Whaley Park in Burnettown. The tryout fee is $55 with shorts and shirts provided.

Greenbrier High School will hold its Christmas Clinic for boys in grades 2-8 on Monday and Tuesday.
