The head of the Augusta Marriott released the annual report on the Augusta Convention Center for 2014. Darryl Leech is vice president and general manager of the hotel that also manages the convention center, which is attached. The convention center had 44 events in 2014. "We had over 40,000 visitors to the convention center with visitor-related spending $11,750,800 of economic impact," he said. In the two years the new center has been open, Leech said there's been $21 million in economic impact from the events there.
