THOMSON, Ga. - Mrs. Jessie Esther Hillman Phillips, 89, of Pylant Crossing, Thomson, Ga., entered into rest October 28, 2007 at Lake Crossing Health Care. She was the beloved wife of the late James C. Phillips. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 31, 2007 at Reedy Creek Baptist Church with Revs. Mike Sutphin and John Jenkins officiating. Nephews will be pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Deacons of Reedy Creek Baptist Church. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Mrs. Phillips was a native of Warren County, Ga. and was the daughter of the late John Sidney Hillman and late Mary Emma Fiskus Hillman. She was a retired Secretary from Civil Service after 32 years. Mrs. Phillips was a member of Reedy Creek Baptist Church where she served as Clerk and Sunday School Teacher and a member of the Ladies Sunday School Class. She was also a member of the National Association of Retired Federal Employees, the "Young At Heart Club", Farm Bureau, Woodman Circle, and a former member of the Garden Club. Mrs. Phillips was a wonderful wife and mother. Mrs. Phillips was impeccably groomed in the epitome of a real Southern Belle. Survivors include son, James Edward Phillips, Thomson, Ga.; several nieces and nephews; and she had one special niece, June Hillman Hattaway.
