Columbia County records researcher charged

A courthouse researcher was charged with theft of public documents after records related to ownership of a storm damaged road in Barrington subdivision vanished from the Columbia County Clerk of Superior Court's records room.

Modified contract caps nuclear waste project costs

The contractor building an important facility to process Cold War nuclear waste from Savannah River Site's underground storage tanks has agreed to a modified contract that caps future construction costs and revises the planned completion date to Dec. 31, 2016.
