AUGUSTA, Ga. - Mr. James Edmund Mims, 74, entered into rest on Wednesday, June 27, 2007 at the Veteran's Administration Medical Center. Mr. Mims, a native of Clanton, Alabama, served in the United States Army as a Military Policeman. He was a retired school teacher, and a member of Woodmen of the World. He is survived by his daughters, Terri Perdue, Mary Ann Rogers and Karin Fotheringham, and her husband, Michael, a son, James Eric Mims, and his wife, Jennifer, all of Augusta, two sisters, Jeanette Teel and Sarah Wright, both of Clanton, Alabama, and his long time friend and caregiver, Donald Autrey. He is also survived by seven grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, Tennessee, 38105. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday evening, June 29, 2007 from 7:00pm until 9:00pm. There will be a private memorial for family at a later date in Clanton, Alabama.
