Desantis familiar with opposing coach

He could have spent hours scrutinizing videotape of tonight's opponent. He could have poured over the expansion Greensboro Generals roster, or perhaps called a few buddies around the league for a scouting report. It would only have been wasted energy for Lynx player/assistant coach Mark Desantis. The 27-year-old is completely up to speed on tonight's opponent. He knows what fiery Generals coach Jeff Brubaker is all about.

Greenbrier notes: Greenbrier finds opposing coach in similar position

For the second year in a row, the coach's wife of the opposing team is expecting a baby any day. Marist coach Dan Perez's wife is expecting a child within the next few days. Last season, Greenbrier swept Madison County for its second straight Class AAA state baseball title. Madison coach Charlie Griffeth and his wife were expecting their first child during the three-game series. The Wolfpack swept the Thursday-Friday series last May 21-22. It was a good thing because Griffeth's wife gave birth to the couple's first child, a baby boy, the next day.
