NFL, newspapers battle freedom of online content

In what is the first attempt by professional football to control what a newspaper puts on an Internet site, the Jacksonville Jaguars and the National Football League are objecting to The Florida Times-Union's Jaguars Web page. The team and the league have told the newspaper to make adjustments to its Internet site, a move that threatens to keep the newspaper from covering Jaguars games. Word of the dispute between the newspaper and NFL drew quick reaction from other newspapers and the Associated Press.
