AUGUSTA, Ga. - Mr. Luther Horace Gaskill Jr. ,"Buck", of Augusta died on August 2, 2007 at Heartland Hospice in Augusta. He was 60 years old. The family will receive friends at The Poteet Funeral Home, West Chapel, 3686 Wheeler Road, 706-860-0009, on Sunday, August 5 from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted in the funeral home chapel on Monday, August 6, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. Committal services will follow at Westview Cemetery. Mr. Gaskill is a retired contractor who has lived in Augusta his entire life. He was preceded in death by his mother, Marion J. Gaskill and by his sister, Linda Kay Gaskill. Mr. Gaskill was a member of Southside Baptist Church. Mr. Gaskill is survived by his wife of more than 38 years, Mrs. Virginia Howell Gaskill; his father Luther Horace Gaskill Sr.; his daughter, Tricia Gaskill Hensley and her husband, Chris; his son, Luther H. Gaskill III and his wife, Brandi; grandchildren, Maranda Hensley, Ashtyn Johnson, Brandon Hensley, and Taryn Gaskill; his sisters Gloria Moxley, Laura Lee Gay, Nina Gaskill, Laverne Gaskill; his brother, Carl Gaskill; a host of nieces and nephews his brothers-in-law, Sonny Howell; sisters-in-law, Pat Williams, Barbara Baxley, Robin Diaz, and Mickey Bentley. The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the very gracious and caring staff at Heartland Hospice of Augusta; the kindness shown by this special group will never be forgotten.
