Mr. James D. Owens, 71, of 1945 Roys Lane, died Saturday, Nov. 14, 1998, at his residence. A memorial service will be at 4 p.m. Tuesday at Sherwood Baptist Church. Burial will be at a later time. Mr. Owens, a native of Jefferson County, Ga., had retired as a mechanic. He was an Army veteran of World War II and a member of Sherwood Baptist Church. His family said his wish was to donate his remains to science. He was always willing to help others and was loved.
