Memorials may be made to Johnston First Baptist Church, 700 Church St., Johnston, S.C. 29832 Mrs. Evans, a native of Philadelphia, died Wednesday, November 17, 2004. She was a daughter of the late J. F. and Beatrice Land Luke. Mrs. Evans was for many years co-owner with her husband of Lee's Department Store in Johnston.

Mr. Hartridge Evans

JOHNSTON, S.C. - Mr. Hartridge Lucius Evans, 73, of Calhoun Street, died Tuesday, Feb. 27, 2001, at University Hospital, Augusta. The funeral will be at 3 p.m. Thursday at Bland Funeral Home with the Rev. Lowell Clark officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Gardens Memorial Park. Mr. Evans, a native of Joanna, was a Marine Corps veteran of World War II and the Korean War and had retired as an assistant manager from Southern Bell. He was a member of Johnston Presbyterian Church.
