AIKEN, S.C. - On Friday, December 24, 2004, Mr. Joel Bruce Burris (221 Cherry Hills Drive, Aiken) entered into eternal rest at the age of 96. He will be remembered by all who met him as a generous and loving father, a dependable, Christian Friend and a loyal and faithful family member. He was a gentleman in the truest sense. Mr. Burris was a dedicated member and Steward of Cumberland A.M.E. Church of Aiken and the Masonic Lodge. Mr. J. Bruce Burris lived, worked and raised his family in Washington, D.C., and returned to his home in Aiken during his retirement.

AIKEN, S.C. - Mr. Freddie L. Perry of Beckwood Trail, Aiken, died Tuesday, August 5, 2003, at Aiken Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be held Monday, August 11, 2003, at the First Baptist Church on York Street at 2 p.m. The body will lie in state beginning at noon. Burial will follow immediately in the Jessamine Memorial Gardens. A native and life long resident of Aiken, Freddie was a member of the Cumberland A.M.E. Church, where he served faithfully. He was employed by EI DuPont and Westinghouse, Savannah River Co. for 31 years.

AIKEN, S.C. - Mrs. Dorothy (Dot) L. Green entered into rest Wednesday, April 12, 2006 at the Medical University of South Carolina, Charleston. She was preceded in death by her father, Joe Green, Sr. and her daughter, Valerie Green. Funeral services will be Wednesday, April 19, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. at Cumberland A.M.E. Church with the Rev. Moses Miller officiating. Burial will be at Jessamine Memorial Garden. Mrs. Green was a native of Aiken County. She was a member of Cumberland A.M.E. where she served faithfully on the Senior and Gospelaires Choirs. She retired from Owens Corning after 28 years of service.
