Hospitals join against Y2K bug

In a rare show of unity, Augusta area hospitals have put competition aside to work together on solving potential year 2000 problems, including coordinating staffing and schedules and pledging to share critical supplies. The Community Health Care Awareness Team or CHAT, which met Tuesday to hear updates on state and local progress, is believed to be one of only two in the country to coordinate health care services within a community to address Y2K, said Dwain Shaw, Year 2000 project director at Medical College of Georgia.
