MITCHELL, Ga. -- Mr. Chester William Smith, 76, of Route 2, died Thursday, July 30, 1998, at Hancock Memorial Hospital, Sparta. The funeral will be at 11 a.m. today at St. Galilee Baptist Church, Sparta, with the Rev. W.J. McCalla officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Mr. Smith, a native of Hancock County, had retired as an automobile mechanic. He was an Army veteran of World War II.
