MARTINEZ, Ga. - Entered into rest on Tuesday, October 13, 2009 at Select Specialty Hospital in Augusta, Mrs. Betty Presley, wife of Mr. Javis Fred Presley of Martinez, Ga. Mrs. Presley was a member of the Lewis Memorial Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her late husband, Mr. Gaza R. Hixon; and brother, Archie Bennett (late Elizabeth). Survivors: husband, Mr. Javis Fred Presley, Martinez, Ga.; one son, Mr. Archie Bennett Hixon, Sr. (Julie), North Augusta, S.C.; two daughters, Mrs. Connie Hixon Atterton (Ken), Harlem, Ga., Lisa June Hixon, Marietta, Ga.; stepchildren, Mr. Tim Presley, Calhoun, Ga., Bridget Presley Hunt, Port Townsend, Wash., Darlene Presley, Canuthersville, Mo., Valerie Presley, Calhoun, Ga., Justine Presley, Smithland, Ky., Perry Presley, Greensboro, Ga.; grandchildren, Mr. Archie Bennett Hixon, Jr., Mr. Brian Hixon, Mr. Kenneth Atterton II, Mr. Jason Atterton, Mrs. Cheri Anthony, Mrs. Amanda Beazley Pittman, Mr. Matthew Beazley; step grandchildren, Danny Hunt, Amanda Presley, Jay Presley, Ryan Presley, Chris Hunt; 11 great grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Mr. Henry Pond (late Prillo), Mr. Vadis Pond (Betty), Mrs. Patsy Laird (late Dave), Mrs. Carol Genova (Sal), Mr. Danny Pond, all of Bismarck, Mo. Funeral services will be held on Oct. 15, 2009 at 2 p.m. in the Thomas L. King Chapel with the Rev. Eddie Bradford officiating. Interment will be in Hillcrest Memorial Park.
