Boxing Augusta's Whitfield is ranked No. 1 Rayonta Whitfield on became the fourth Augusta Boxing Club member to be No. 1 in the USA Boxing's rankings. The national organization's third-quarter rankings have Whitfield at the top in the light flyweight (106 pounds) division. Last quarter, the Augustan was No. 2 behind Ron Siler of Cincinnati, Ohio. Siler dropped to No. 2. Previous Augusta Boxing Club members ranked No. 1 were Poncho Carter (1978), Bennie Heard (1983) and Vernon Forrest (1992). Booster Club

Auto Racing Harvick, Sprague wrap up titles Kevin Harvick capped his return to Rockingham's North Carolina Speedway by winning the Busch series championship Saturday, overshadowing Kenny Wallace's victory in the Sam's Club 200. Harvick, who made his first Winston Cup start here in February as the replacement driver for the late Dale Earnhardt, finished fifth to lock up his first title and give car owner Richard Childress championships in all three of NASCAR's top series.
