AUGUSTA, Ga. - Gladys Violet Griner, 89, entered into a peaceful rest, Monday, October 12, 2009 at her residence. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, October 15, 2009, at the Lumpkin Road Chapel of Elliott Sons Funeral Home with Pastor Baxter Stanley officiating. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park. Mrs. Griner was a supervisor for 38 years at Hollingsworth Candy Company. She also worked at Ruben's Department Store for 13 years. She was a member of the First Assembly of God Church, since 1946 and also an assistant Sunday School teacher and was actively involved in her church while her health permitted. She was a very prayerful person for her church and her family. She loved her family, her church and her home. She is preceded in death by her husband, Ernest G. Griner. She is survived by her daughter, Marsha (Carl) Baldowski of Augusta; granddaughter; Megan L. Baldowski; grandson, Kyle F. Baldowski; both of Augusta, niece, Melvia (Gerald) Roberts, Orlando, FL; great niece, Fonda (Garland) Mears, Orlando, Fl.
