AUGUSTA, Ga. - Mrs. Annie Mae "Heavy Jaw" Mims, 82, wife of the late Henry Mims, of Japonica Avenue, entered into rest Sunday, December 7, 2008 at the University Hospital. Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 13, 2008 at 1 p.m. at Greater Young Zion Baptist Church with Rev. William Blount officiating. Burial will be in Walker Memorial Park. The remains will lie in state at the church from 12 noon until the hour of service. Family and friends will assemble at the residence at 12:30 p.m. Williams Funeral Home, 1765 Martin Luther King, Jr. Blvd.

She was a native of Aiken County, S.C., retired from Curtis Baptist Church Daycare, and a member of Greater Young Zion Baptist Church, where she was a former member of the Hostess Board. Survivors are five daughters, Jacqueline Hill, Beech Island, S.C., Linda Mims, Gail Mims, Pamela (Moses) Reeves, Paulette Curry, Augusta; four sons, Henry M. (Vernell) Mims, Hephzibah, Roger Mims, Vernon Mims, Augusta, Paul (Bablin) Mims, Dublin, Ga.; two brothers, Abraham Douse, Jackson, S.C. and Charles Douse, Philadelphia, Pa.; seven sisters, Ruth Hamilton, Augusta, Christine Thornton, Gladys Douse, Philadelphia, Pa., Polly Brown, Mary Alice Ryans, Laura Douse, Catherine McCorkle, Jackson, S.C.; 30 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
