AIKEN, S.C. - Mrs Josephine Holman Hightower slipped away on May 14, 2001, while at the Medical College of Georgia after her one-and-a-half year fight with cancer. She was the daughter of the late George Holman Sr. and Mrs. Pauline V. Holman of Durham, N.C. Mrs. Hightower was the beloved wife of 31 years to Councilman Willar H. Hightower Jr. of Aiken, S.C. She leaves to cherish her memories her husband, Willar H. Hightower Jr.; three daughters, Samelia (Chee) Holman of Durham, N.C., Willa (Neecy) Hightower of Atlanta, Ga.
